CANCELLATION Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2020 Reunion is cancelled for Sisters, Oregon June 18-21, 2020. Please read the letter from our humble hosts Bill and Cathy Harwood: 2020 REUNION CANCELLATION
Dear Photo Troops and Guests,
Cathy and I have agonized day and night for the past couple of weeks about our 5th reunion trying to decide if we should proceed or cancel?
With all the uncertainty in the world and no definite end in sight, we have concluded that it is in the best interest for all of us if we do not proceed.
We are concerned for those of you who have travel plans and then must cancel them. And obviously there is also everyone’s interest in everyone’s’ health and well being.
We have deposits with a caterer and vendors that we must now cancel, and we will request our money back. As soon as we receive the funds, we will issue a check to reimburse each of you who have paid.
We will go to the Best Western Hotel and request a blanket cancellation of all existing reservations. Should there be a problem we will contact you individually and you can make the cancellation.
We were so excited for you to see and enjoy our beautiful little town which is surrounded by the white mountains and blue sky. We have had several locals and friends who are excited about all of you coming!! They want to play in our golf tournament and come to the banquet just to mingle with the “troops”. Sisters is VERY PRO military.
That said, what do we do and where do we go next? Early discussions have two options. 1. Reschedule the reunion in Sisters for 2021. (This could be a conflict for some with the SR-71 reunion in Reno which is scheduled for June 2021). 2. There has always been talk of holding our reunion in Branson, MO.
We would like to hear from you and get a consensus of where and what you would like to do regarding a future reunion. Again, this breaks our heart to have to cancel, but we feel it is in everyone’s best interest.
When life returns to normal and if any of you would like to visit our fun little tourist town…our door is open. We would love to see you!! We could even have a small reunion without the frills and entertainment.
Finally, we would like to thank Dave, Eric, Bob, and Joe for their assistance in putting this together. We couldn’t have done it without their assistance and guidance.
Wishing you all good health and a prayer for the cure.
Sincerely, Bill and Cathy Harwood
